KQBH-LP 101.5 FM started broadcasting in 2019 as a community service of the Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory (BHAC), Rooted in the historic Paramount Ballroom, a 1924 Renaissance Revival, the station reflects the area’s artistic and cultural spirit. Since 2012, BHAC has offered free workforce education in the creative arts industries, with KQBH emerging as a platform to amplify local voices and celebrate underrepresented communities.
With diverse programming of over 60 programs, ranging from live music and DJ sets to discussions on social issues, KQBH and BHAC doubles as a training ground, teaching sound engineering, radio production, and podcasting. It carries forward a legacy as a hub for creativity and grassroots activism while empowering the next generation to shape their own narrative through the media landscape. The station stands as a testament to Boyle Heights’ heritage, celebrating its stories and cultural identity.
KQBH thrives through the dedication of passionate hosts, volunteers, and professionals who craft original programming that resonates with the community. A project of the BHAC, it champions diversity and inclusion across creative arts, media, and technology, reflecting the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles.
